With the release of each version update, Vana'diel continues its transformation into an ever more adventurer-friendly realm. In staying true to this tradition, the development team is working hard on a host of adjustments and additions that will allow our players to focus on what they do best: adventuring! Chariot, Empress, and Emperor Bands
To date, recharging these items required that adventurers call upon guard NPCs located within designated conquest areas and towns. Depending on their current job level, however, adventurers may find these areas to be a considerable time and distance away from their current base of operation. To address this inconvenience, West Aht Urhgan and Past Vana'diel are scheduled to be added to the list of rechargeable locations for the bands. The price of the service in these new locations will be consistent with that of existing areas. Treasure Coffers and Chests
That these mysterious containers house an assortment of highly sought-after items such as artifacts and maps is no secret. Such is their popularity among adventurers that those who seek them wishing to acquire the aforementioned items are often left frustrated by others who have different spoils, namely miscellaneous items and gil, in mind. The December version update will see the respawn time for coffers and chests significantly cut specifically for those in the hunt for items such as artifacts and maps. Jeuno
Recent adventurer lifestyle-related improvements made to town areas have focused mainly on the three nations. In light of current adventuring trends in Aht Urhgan and the recent influx of new adventurers, the spotlight has been cast once more upon Jeuno. Adventurers can look forward to the following changes during their visits to the duchy following the December version update:
- The sales tax imposed on bazaars will be abolished in all areas of the duchy.
- Teleportation to Aht Urhgan Whitegate will be available for mercenaries via the Salaheem's Sentinels representative... Let Moblin Maze Mongers build the labyrinth of your dreams!
We're here today in downtown Jeuno to bring you an exclusive interview with Goldagrik, the pioneering mind behind Moblin Maze Mongers!
He spoke with us about his company's vision and the made-to-order mazes that are sure to delight adventurers across the realm.
------------------------------------ - Er, why don't you start by telling our readers a little bit about yourself, uh...sir.
"What'cha starin' at, missy?
Never seen a Moblin dressed like me before?
No wonder, 'cause yer speakin' to none other than Goldagrik—visionary among Moblins and the brilliant business mind behind Maze Mongers, Inc., purveyor o' the most marvelous made-t'-order mazes!" - So what exactly are these mazes you build?
"What are they!?
Only the most devious, diabolical labyrinths you've ever laid yer pretty eyes upon, lovin'ly crafted t'each customer's demanding specifications!" - Designing a maze sounds terribly complicated...
Ohoho...fear not!
Every Maze Monger customer will be provided with a Maze Tabula, y'see here? Just use one o' these to make a scale model o' yer dream dungeon and our expert artisans will take care o' the rest!" - That certainly sounds simple enough! So did you have any trouble clearing the Grand Duchy's notoriously strict "Building codes?
Building codes? Not sure I follow ye, missy.
Y'see, our mazes are built underground—under the ocean floor, no less.
We Moblins have been drillin' down there for ages without worryin' 'bout no building codes.
Our customers give us an order, we build 'em a maze, simple as that.
How they use it ain't none o' our concern." - The construction time you advertise seems awfully short for such a massive architectural undertaking...
"Look, us Moblins have been diggin' and delvin' in Movalpolos since yer granddaddy's granddaddy was in diapers. If ye can't trust us, who can ye trust? Eh?
Precision architecture. Comprehensive maintenance. Safe and secure, with limitless possibilities! The perfect maze—of the... [Read More] | 43 Replies | 897 Views | | Version Update News (11/04/2008) | | Nov 04, 2008 - 4:18 AM - by LilithAngel | Version Update News (11/04/2008)

Under trees resplendent in autumn hues, the streets of the three nations were abuzz with anticipation. Townspeople bustled to and fro, carving pumpkins and sewing costumes for the masquerade. The annual Harvest Festival was nigh.
And yet, amidst all the merriment, something was amiss. Anyone who turned an ear to the whispers of the crowd would soon hear the disquieting rumor that had struck fear into the hearts of commoner and noble alike.
"Pyracmon is coming...coming to bring doom to us all!"
On an isle far to the west, two young exorcists who had caught wind of these ill tidings descended to the vault of their church, hoping to uncover the story behind this unfamiliar moniker... * The ghoulishly fun Harvest Festival event will creep into town on Friday, October 17th at 1:00 (PDT), and skulk back into the shadows on Saturday, November 1st at 1:00. "Let's see... Puk...Qiqirn...
Phooey! 'Tis no use. Nary a mention in From Abhac to Zu: A Vana'dielian Bestiary."
The young woman in velvet robes closed the weighty volume with a frown, and placed it atop the already-imposing stack of tomes that teetered unsteadily beside the oaken desk.
"Bah! I thought for sure that A Compleat Guide to the Nether-worlde would hold the knowledge we seek."
The young man–clad in identical garments—hung his head dejectedly as he returned the ancient book he had been perusing to its shelf.
"Surely this 'Pyracmon' is naught but a figment of some child's overactive imagination? You know how superstitious those mainland folk get when the Harvest Festival draws near."
"If only it were so—but we have eyewitness reports from each of the three nations. I daresay this is more than some child's fancy."
No sooner had the girl let out a sigh than a booming voice echoed through the vault.
"If you speak of Pyracmon, I can assure you he is no mere child's tale. Gertrude, Brian..."
"Roger!"
The two young exorcists spun around in tandem to face their visitor.
The man identified as Roger was of middle age and sturdily built. He heaved shut the massive door and strode toward the pair with a vigorous gait.
"No child's tale indeed.... [Read More] | 2 Replies | 581 Views | | Announcing the "FINAL FANTASY XI 14-Day Free Trial"! (10/07/2008) | | Oct 07, 2008 - 12:59 PM - by Ameroth |

__________________________________________________ Warning Against Unauthorized Access
We have been warning PlayOnline users for some time about unauthorized access, but recently there have been reports of users whose PlayOnline accounts have been stolen and accessed as a result of going to third party sites introduced while viewing regular websites.
Because of this, immediately after a version update, damages caused by posting on and viewing normal websites may drastically increase. If you are connecting to PlayOnline with a PC, please be sure to strengthen your computer's safety through performing Windows Updates, using your internet browser's latest version, and by using internet security software. In addition to using the latest software versions, please refrain from visiting suspicious sites. Even if your PC is infected with a virus designed to steal PlayOnline IDs and passwords, by installing anti-virus software, you can significantly reduce the chance of your PC actually being accessed by an unauthorized third party. For information on preventative measures in dealing with unauthorized access, please view the "Information Regarding Unauthorized Access" page.
Click here for information on dealing with unauthorized access.
There have also been reports of link scripts to sites rigged with programs designed to steal PlayOnline IDs and passwords being embedded into user's homepages through unauthorized access. We ask that users possessing homepages review their site provider's information regarding unauthorized access and also confirm that no suspicious scripts or advertising banners have been embedded in their homepage.
